Symposium 2024

Wednesday, September 11, the annual Apace Symposium was held in York, Nebraska, at the Holthus Convention Center. The Apace Symposium is a day where individuals supported come together and listen to presenters share about themselves, their life stories and experiences while attending a professional conference. Over 500 people participated in the event, and the excitement was felt throughout the day.

Our emcee, Lon, started the day off with jokes and finished the day the same way. Presenters covered their life stories and interests. Those presenting at the Symposium practiced for months leading up to this event in front of friends and family to prepare for the big day. This year, we celebrated the work of our direct support employees and were entertained by comedian and magician, Mike Bliss.

Thank you to all the presenters and volunteers who made the day possible.

These presenters must have been nervous, as anyone would be in front of such a big crowd! Congratulations to them and their support staff for a wonderful achievement.

Thank you for having this symposium and inviting our son to it! We were elated to hear that he allowed his caregiver, James Goni to stick it out for the entire event. That was a big accomplishment for Ben. We were also happy to hear that Dawn received an award.
