Jay set out to find a job and, with support from Apace and strong community connections, found the right opportunity close to home. After years of volunteering, Jay began his first competitive employment in June 2025 at Molcajete Mexican Restaurant in Geneva. He works approximately six hours each week, serving chips and salsa to customers and helping keep tables clean. Receiving his first paycheck on June 18 was a proud milestone and Jay already knew exactly how he wanted to celebrate, sharing plans to buy a Bubblr. Jay says he “loves every minute” of being at work, and his enthusiasm and dedication shine through in every shift. His story highlights the importance of persistence, support, and meaningful employment.
