The goal of the Apace Foundation is to support Apace and to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in Southeast Nebraska.
Meet Nebraska City
Apace supports 46 people in Nebraska City with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They live and work in the community, spend money, and want safe and secure housing to call their own.
Through the Housing Possibilities Campaign, we are raising funds to build a residential home in Nebraska City at 3rd Ave and 7th St. This newly built home will allow the individuals living in the house to age in place. We need your help to make this dream home become a reality. We are currently fundraising to help us reach our goal of $375,000.
After talking with individuals supported through Apace, their families, and employees who work in residential homes, we discovered it is important that this home be built with the mindset of allowing individuals to age in place.
Meet a few people from Nebraska City
3 bedrooms with 3 private bathrooms
1 staff bedroom
1 common guest bathroom
Pantry and storm shelter on main level
No steps into the home
The final result will be a house that symbolizes the next generation of housing for those with disabilities in Nebraska. While we can’t see into the future, we believe we have a home that provides dignity to those we support, so that they can age in place for many years.
For this project to become a reality we need your help! The total cost of this project is $375,000.
Thank you to our current donors and support from the Apace Foundation we are over halfway to our goal.

Message from our CEO
I am so excited to share this project with the public! Members of the Apace team and some passionate members of the Nebraska City community have been working hard for the past 18 months on bringing a modern home to life. “I am so excited to share this project with the public! The plans have been drawn and the foundation has been laid; now it’s time to raise the walls.
We sought out examples of what other providers have built and coupled this with our 50 years of experience in the field. Every detail has been meticulously considered down to the last nail. We are fundraising for a reason – funding for services covers the costs of day-to-day operations, leaving very little for capital investments. I ask for your support in making this project a reality.”
