A routine visit to the Hebron State Farm Insurance Agency turned into a life-changing opportunity for Marissa Cervantes. After reconnecting with a former high school friend, Marissa confidently shared her work with Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation and her goal of becoming an office assistant. Her enthusiasm and self-advocacy earned her an interview on the spot. On interview day, Marissa arrived prepared with her application, resume, and notebook in hand, and left with the job she had been working towards. Since August 5, 2025, Marissa has been a valued member of the State Farm team, with her own desk and a variety of responsibilities, including labeling mailings, sending birthday cards, typing, filing, and caring for office plants. Marissa says she “loves everything about her job,” and her success reflects the power of confidence, preparation, and community connections.
