This year brought significant change for Taylor, who lives in Gretna and made a brave decision to stay in Nebraska when her mom relocated to Alabama. Wanting to remain close to her friends and community, Taylor chose to build her future here, even though it meant navigating uncertainty around housing. She first lived with family friends, and later with an Apace employee, Fatou, where she gained valuable experience and clarity about what she wanted in a home. During this time, Taylor was approved for Shared Living Provider (SLP) funding and began exploring her options. She ultimately found the right fit with Rachelle and Conrad. Taylor now enjoys a large bedroom, a new desk, and a home filled with pets—including dogs, cats, and fish. She shares that she feels comfortable, supported, and at home, highlighting the importance of choice, stability, and belonging.
